Bureau of Calibration. The Reckoning
Sealed Assessment
Engine Administered
Standling14 / 23At the Line

The Reckoning has already been sat.

The Bureau notes that a sealed record under this registration already exists. The Engine does not administer the Reckoning twice. A second figure, set on the same citizen in the same season, would not be a second opinion. It would be an inconsistency, and inconsistencies are not, in the Bureau, permitted to stand.

Your record is sealed. It will be filed. The Engine thanks you for your cooperation, which it no longer requires.

Citizens who wish to know how such figures are made, and unmade, may consult the record of one Assessor’s first season.

Citizens entered on the Register are informed when a new season is entered into the record. Removal from the Register is arranged by Form 14.

Citizens wishing to understand their measures may consult the materials below. The materials will not alter the record. The Engine has already decided.

Notice. The Reckoning is sat once. The Engine does not administer this assessment twice in the same season. Citizens who complete the Reckoning will find, on any subsequent attempt to access this form, that the Engine has already noted their registration. The record made today is the record that will stand. There is no appeal. There is no Form 14 for a Reckoning.

The Bureau of Calibration administers the Reckoning to all citizens at the close of each season. This assessment is sealed. Your Assessor will not see your answers. The Engine will.

You will be measured against four standards, known not by names but by their shapes. At the close of the assessment, the Engine will fold your shapes into a single figure: your Standling for the season.

The line is set at fourteen.

Citizens may consult the preparation materials for each shape before beginning. The Bureau does not guarantee that preparation will improve a citizen's Standling. The Engine measures what is, not what has been rehearsed.

Citizens are advised that there are eight questions. Each question has three possible responses. Citizens may not return to a previous question once it has been answered. Deliberation is not measured. Deliberation is not, in the Bureau, considered to exist.
